Mina Alikani, Ph.D.
is a
founding member of the Galileo team and currently a senior research
scientist at Galileo Laboratories. She is the Principle Investigator on
a New Jersey State sponsored grant for derivation of new human embryonic
stem cells from abnormal human embryos.
Dr. Alikani’s career in assisted reproduction began in 1983 when she
received clinical embryology training at a community hospital in
Northridge, California. She subsequently moved to the East Coast and has
been an IVF laboratory supervisor/manager at two highly successful IVF
centers in the U.S. Dr. Alikani has authored and co-authored more than
60 peer-reviewed publications and book chapters and has lectured
extensively around the world on topics related to assisted reproduction
technologies and human embryonic stem cells. Her areas of interest
include spindle and division dynamics in mammalian eggs and embryos,
abnormal embryo development in vitro, and human embryonic stem cell
derivation.
